A Manifesto On Fucking

What’s the difference between a slut and a bitch?

A slut fucks everyone. A bitch fucks everyone but you.

For two weeks, I’ve been immersed in the social media back and forth about the Hobby Lobby decision that allows employers to exempt themselves from covering some or all birth control methods listed as preventative care under the Affordable Care Act. The dialogue, if you can call shouting into the abyss of Twitter a dialogue, isn’t about religion. It isn’t about freedom. It’s not about laws or justice or health or any of that. It’s about sex. It’s about who is allowed to have sex under differing sets of circumstances. It’s about people thinking they have the authority to approve of sex other people are having. But most of all, it’s about men who are afraid that women – bitches – are having sex but not with them.

Isn’t that, right? You’re afraid they’re fucking everyone but you.

You see young girls on campus, fucking in the dorms…but not you.

You see girls dancing in the club, a declaration that they want to fuck…but not you.

You see girls who aren’t in your kind of church and you just know they’re out there fucking someone…but not you.

You see girls with skin that isn’t white fucking beautiful dark boys…but not you.

You see women walking away from their husbands, heading off to fuck someone else…but not you.

You see girls fucking other girls…but not you.

So much fucking that isn’t about you. Will never be about you.

Old men in the old seats of power can’t change. They will never be able to stand all the fucking that they’re not doing, all the women who aren’t fucking them. Instead they will do anything, anything at all, to stop the fucking from happening.

They will make birth control too expensive. They will make abortion unavailable. They will suppress wages to make raising children a luxury. They will use all of their power to make fucking too expensive for women unless – UNLESS – a woman chooses to fuck an elite like them. A man with God money on his side. A man who can sanctify the fucking because it’s finally with him.

Don’t fuck them.

Find the men who glory in our freedom and fuck them. Marry men who see the joy in fucking, not just the sin of Eve. Demand pleasure from the fucking and give pleasure in return. Do not apologize for wanting to fuck, for wanting to fuck for fun instead of for childbearing. Do not apologize for wanting to use the technology that lets us fuck in our own way, with no consequence but pleasure. Fuck how you want, who you want, where and when you want. Or if you don’t want to fuck, if you want to wait, if you need a church wedding, or true love or whatever, rock on. If you want to fuck to conceive, do it. Do it your way. Not my way or their way. Your way.

But not them. Do not fuck men who think women don’t deserve to fuck for fun. Don’t fuck them, or vote for them, or patronize their businesses. If you can manage it, don’t work for them (sometimes we all gotta do a job because not doing a job means not eating and we need to eat). Walk away from those men whenever you can. Walk away and find the other men or women, the ones worth fucking.
