Normally, I write like a banshee all weekend, get most of my posts for the week queued up, then spend my weeknights sipping pinot noir and watching Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern. This week however, I’ve been writing every night to scrape together something resembling a post for the following day. Because I spent last weekend sipping pinot noir at the Ritz with other bloggers and forgot all about, you know, actually blogging. All of which is a long winded way of saying that I am out of steam for this week. So, instead of blathering endlessly about whatever, I’m going to take a moment to relieve myself of the burden of original thought and promote a couple of really rockin’ things.
First, remember a while back when I posted about Write for Charity? No? That’s ok. I did post about it. (The post got screwed up when I moved from Blogger to WordPress so I won’t link to it.) Write for Charity is a project created by some moms who wanted to harness the power of writers for good. They have published a collection of essays and stories about parenting, proceeds from which will benefit children’s health charities. And yours truly has a piece in the collection! Woo-hoo! The book is available for public pre-sale now so snap it up at the bargain price! It’s for a really great cause!
Second, you probably remember that I have a scary obsession solid working relationship and Twitter friendship with Gregg and Megan Deal of Modern Bird Studios here in the DC area. They (and I) are proud to announce that Gregg is having a solo show at Sukio Design Co. in northwest DC. The show runs through July 30 and will ROCK OUT LOUD! (I’m not even sure what I mean by that but it’s intended to be good.) There’s going to be a par-tay to kick the exhibit off on Saturday night so if you’re in the DC area, happen to have a sitter, and want to hang with a brilliant creative thinker and her husband who makes paintings, come on down! My husband and I will be there, soaking up the atmosphere and the wine!
Have a great weekend y’all and check back on Monday when I’ll have resumed my normal writing schedule so that my blog posts won’t unravel by the end of the week.
Have a great weekend!
Hahaha… Happy Friday, m’dear. You are amazing.
Have a good weekend!! I would love to go to an art show on the weekend!! How fun!! The closest we get here is walking around town looking at the statues the Mayor’s Art Council brings in every few months.
Congrats on your book I’ll check it out!
Hope you had fun at the Ritz! You were hanging with one of my oldest and dearest friends Elena. I am green with envy that I could not come and meet you irl 🙁 glad you girls had fun…when I make my next trip to DC, wine at the Ritz…even though I’m a Deep South Mom, I’ll always be a DC girl at heart
