Thanks to everyone who said such lovely things in regards to my friend and her daughter’s cancer diagnosis. The good news is that she won’t need to go through chemo, at least not right away. K. and her boyfriend P. worked the phones like rockstars (or parents who might be willing to take hostages if it means their daughter gets the best care) and lined up THE team of experts to review the pathology on E.’s tumor. They found the doctor who literally discovered this type of tumor and got the entire tumor board at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC to look over the case. In the cancer world, these people are like the Royal Family. There’s normal smart and then there’s Sloan-Kettering doctor smart which is in a whole different league. All of these super-docs felt that the original surgery last month was effective and the chance of recurrence is low enough that E. doesn’t need to do chemo but instead will undergo careful monitoring. Yeehaw!
So cancer, you’re on notice. We’re watching you and if you make one wrong move, a whole lotta hell is bustin’ loose.
That is such good news!!! Keep us posted
Great news! Back off cancer your gonna get your ass kicked!
Oh thank God. I can't imagine dealing with chemo at my age, much less at 2.
That is great news!
